CHARACTERISTICS AND MODE OF ACTION

Traumastem TAF Light is a sterile, resorbable, biocompatible haemostat. The colour is white or yellowish with a distinct odour. It is made of oxidized cellulose with a high absorption capacity. Following contact with blood transforms into adhesive gel, which protects platelets from being washed out of the wound, thus stopping the bleeding faster. Contributes to the acceleration of biochemical processes and supports the healing process.

INTENDED USE / INDICATIONS

Traumastem TAF Light is used as auxiliary means for stopping capillary, venous, or small arterial bleeding, and also to prevent early postoperative bleeding. It can be used in all areas of stopping diffuse bleeding from resection surfaces, such as parenchymatous organs, muscles or defined body cavities. The wide scope of application allows use in classical, robotic surgery and endoscopic procedures, e.g. laparoscopy.

BACTERICIDAL EFFECT

Traumastem haemostats exhibit bactericidal effect in vitro against these microorganisms: Staphylococcus epidermidis (MRSE), Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Candida albicans, Aspergillus niger, Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA), Proteus vulgaris, Enterococcus faecalis (VRE), Klebsiela aerogenes, Bacteroides fragilis, Clostridium perfringens.

APPLICATION

Application is possible by simply placing it onto the required area, gentle pressing, sewing or using it as a tampon. The product can be used in general and digestive surgery, plastic surgery, vascular and thoracic surgery, neurosurgery, orthopaedics, gynaecology, urology, dentistry and other related fields in a variety of surgical interventions, e.g. liver surgery, lung surgery or surgery of other parenchymatous organs, gallbladder surgery, in tumour resections, part of the organ resections, haemorrhoidectomy, vascular graft implantation, bleeding after sternotomy, biopsy, gastric resections, etc.
